Hockey fans in Tampa Bay will soon have the opportunity to see their beloved Lightning take the ice in front of a larger crowd. The team has announced that capacity will be increased for their upcoming Stanley Cup semifinal home games. The move comes as the state of Florida continues to ease COVID-19 restrictions.

The Lightning will host the New York Islanders in Games 3 and 4 of the semifinal series at Amalie Arena. Game 3 is scheduled for Friday, July 2, and Game 4 will be played on Sunday, July 4. Capacity for both games will be increased to 14,800 fans, which is about 75% of the arena's total capacity.

The Lightning are hopeful that the increased capacity will give them a home-ice advantage in the series. The team has been playing well at home this postseason, winning all three of their games at Amalie Arena. The Islanders, on the other hand, have lost both of their road games in the playoffs.

Tickets for the Lightning's home games in the Stanley Cup semifinals are on sale now. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets early, as they are expected to sell out quickly.
