Miami Grand Prix Track Changes Unveiled
Revised DRS Zones and Runoff Areas
Organizers of the Miami Grand Prix have released updated track layouts, revealing significant changes to the circuit's design. The most notable alterations involve the placement of the two DRS (drag reduction system) activation points and the expansion of runoff areas.
DRS Activation Point Adjustments
The first and second DRS activation points have been repositioned 75 meters (246 feet) further along the circuit, providing drivers with increased opportunities to utilize the low-drag setting.
Expanded Runoff Areas
Several runoff areas have been widened to enhance driver safety, particularly in Turns 5 and 15. These modifications aim to reduce the likelihood of accidents and allow drivers to recover from mistakes more easily.
These track changes are part of ongoing efforts to improve the Miami Grand Prix circuit and ensure its compliance with FIA safety regulations.
