Fair and Impartial Selection

Federal grand juries, tasked with determining whether there is probable cause to charge a person with a crime, must be randomly selected from a fair cross-section of the community.

Alternate Jurors

In addition to regular jurors, grand juries may also select alternate jurors who have the same qualifications and are subject to the same selection process.
